http://www.bestguitars.org/ Classic guitars are among the most desirable items for collectors that love music and this type of instrument. As one of the most commonly sold instruments in the United States, music fans and aspiring musicians alike have a fondness for classic guitars. However, not all types of guitars necessarily fall under this category.

The word vintage is one that is commonly associated with classic guitars. Not to be confused with classical guitars, this term is used to describe a guitar that is considered older or an original. Originally, vintage was tacked on as a way to describe clothing and even cars. But it can also be applied when talking about classic guitars.

According to most collectors, classic guitars are those that were made from the mid 1920s to 1970 (anything after 1970 is not considered classic to most experts that specialize in this field). As with most collectible items, the older the guitar is the more valuable it is. Guitar fans from all over the world have spent countless hours and dollars searching for classic guitars to add to their collections.

Some examples of guitars that fall under the classic category include: the Rickenbacker 360 (introduced in 1963), the Fender Jaguar (introduced in 1962), the Gibson Explorer (introduced in 1959), the Fender Jazzmaster (introduced in 1958) and the Gibson Les Paul Junior (introduced in 1954).

If youre hoping to purchase a classic guitar you can turn to the Internet to find websites where you can connect with sellers and/or online retailers. Or if you have a classic guitar that you would like to sell, this can be done online as well.

  • Do yourself a favor, and hire a narrator. Someone who knows how to pronounce "Rickenbacker". Oh: And when the narrator says "Rickenbacker", the picture should not show a Gibson SG.
