  • how does this compare to the gorillapod?

do you kidnap people and hide them in your basement?

  • i have this. works well with a dslr w a wide lens. it's plastic so it's very light so it's something you can always leave in the bag. good for traveling. uses. group shots with a table. long exp for indoor church and also at night.

not strong enough with a dslr and a tele like the 70-200. you get creeping. you could have to aim higher knowing it will settle lower.

  • good stuff!

  • Look around in Lowe's, Home Depot, Wal-Mart or other "big box" stores for Velcro straps used for bundling wires. They come in various sizes. You should be able to find a size to work as a replacement for the Ultra-Pod. Cool vids! Thanks!

  • the gorilla pod is good but in this case the velcro is a more secure way to mount a camera.

  • Another problem with velcro especially for someone like myself who enjoys shooting wildlife footage is the noise. I've configured magnets into some of my gear that previously had velcro and it still holds up great as long as the weight isn't too significant. Enjoyed the vid Russell

  • Hey there Russell. Love the info. Took the kids camping and used one of your alachol stoves that i made using your vids. As far as a waterproof camera, i use the GO PRO HERO. Water proof up to 100 or more feet. SMALL. Records on a 2 gig sd card. Also has a suction cup mount so I can attach it to my GSX-R and take vids while i ride. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK. GET OUT THERE ON THE TRAIL AND ENJOY GOD'S BEAUTY!!!!
