thats pretty awesome! it looks really smooth as it moves to so the time yous pent on it is fantastic. this sort of thing just shows why it takes people like pixar so long to make awesome movies like monsters inc. etc. good on you!

Yeah, back on a 200-300mhz system with onboard crap graphics + only being able to dedicate some time to this as I had other assignments that needed doing.
Imagine the render time, some of the frames took up to 5-10 mins to render.
Nowadays I could do this in maybe 1-2 weeks of solid work, the only problem being that I haven't done 3D for a long time.

If this video took you 300 plus hours to render then you are doing something very wrong. That would mean your video took about 30 minutes to render each frame and that is simply just not necessary to render an animation of this quality

Sorry for the year long wait for the comment nocturnalwun.
It took that long as I was rendering it on a very old PC, I believe it was in the 300-400mhz range, with onboard graphics (and even then, less than 4mb for the graphics card.)
If I rendered it on a modern system it would probably only take a day or so to render.
Plus the 300+ hours of rendering included failed render attempts, it all came down to something like 2-5 mins per frame (on average.)
