SOrry for the camera clicking noise, it likes to re-focus A LOT. I also wanted to do some editing and graphics but ran out of time and wanted to post something as opposed to keep you guys waiting for years.
Tone Picker allows you to change the volume of some aspects of your phone you couldn't alter before. For instance, you can make your alerts louder or quieter as opposed to "HIGH MEDIUM LOW," as well as change the volume of the alarm clock. Very handy, doesn't do much, but it does what it does well...yeah...woo...
Spare Parts lets you add some features you couldn't normally change, like fancy animation windows and larger fonts. It's a very handy tool for those that want a little more out of their G1. Between these two apps, you can really make your phone the coolest on the block.
@middnite At the time (obviously) I wasn't sure, but you are correct. Thanks for the clarification.

I believe you're mixed up on haptic feedback. It is the vibration you get when you touch the keypad.

It's worth it to get the root access, which opens up your G1 to many new features, but with a new OS like Android I'm afraid to "break" my phone. If it was Windows Mobile or Mac OS, easy and done. If you attempt it you have my blessing and luck.
