I don't think those things will shut off your car, lock the doors, and do the alarm. And the point is to keep the thieves in so they get busted.

Subscription for those things is expensive. You can do much the same with a Toad text alert or Clifford CallGuard with no subscription fee and only the costs of the text messages sent by the unit itself.
Not sure I'd want to be deadlocking thieves in there as it wouldn't be too difficult for them to get out which would cause more costly damage to your car.
