@xxxxdarkknightxxxxx So... Is that like how "catch and release" is a good strategy for keeping the fish out of your side of the pond? Most illegal aliens who are deported will find their way back into the U.S. And besides, this "solution" of blaming all illegal aliens because some commit other crimes or cause accidents is akin to shutting down the grocery store to everyone because shoplifters exist.

@SupaYoda Okay, yes and no, but more no. Yes he was drunk driving and is in jail for that but, he should have been deported in the first place. Our country is not the jail for the world. We'll handle our own criminals the the whole world. So "no" he should've been deported and sent back to his country. Our country is not the harborer of all criminals.

Geraldo is right. The guy's legal status didn't kill this girl. His drunk driving did. And the first does not cause the second. And saying deportation would get this guy off the street in the U.S. is like saying a caught fish will quit swimming if you release it. He's just going to hop the border again. If you really want a criminal (legal or otherwise) off the street, the best way to do it is to keep them here in the U.S.-- in a jail cell.
