PREPARING FOR TRIP TO NEW YORK, I MAKE TWO PIECE SHAKUHACHI AND INVENT A SIMPLE JOINT USING PVC. WAS NOT CONCERNED TOO MUCH WITH AESTHETICS BUT PRIMARILY PORTABILITY AND GOOD SOUND FROM SHAKUHACHI I CAN PLAY ALONE IN EMPTY CHURCHES IN NYC. ALTHOUGH WAS SATISFIED WITH OUTCOME.

You're right. It should be farther from the holes, but not too far that it loses purchase and the joint becomes unstable. Thanks.

  • Thanks. Agree it's not aesthetic looking but it works and is inexpensive.
