The only noise you need on a high performance EV is the scream of tortured tires as they struggle for traction under the mountain of torque being poured into them.

Electric cars of the future will have 1200hp+, all wheel drive with an AI computer that will assist every turn, acceleration and braking of the vehicle in full control. You could drive the car past your limits safely. Theoretical speeds are close to 300mph but tire technology for now has failed to improve. Electric bullet trains exceed 500kph today and will be faster in the future.

@Janusha I think some sort of haptic feedback of, let's say, an electric sportscar's demand and output is either present in or being developed. I would like to know if a driver can "feel" the 36,000 RPM of a Porsche kinetic storage flywheel (which makes it "go faster"). I suppose I'm suggesting that newer and better sensations will exist. Just wait until you experience sensation via a neural link to the automobile's computer, which in turn, forces you to react.

I hope it isn't as slow as they've made it look on this video. Tesla is much better I recon. from paypal to electric cars. based on the lotus. it looks alot better. the lightening should have been based on something alot cooler. the name sucks too. lightening.

Sounds like a bunch of people haven't heard an electric motor before, they really make some cool sounds

Not to mention that no tailpipe is illegal in some states.

not really, whenever I hear some loud v8 with no tailpipe come past my house I can't even talk to my neighbours without yelling. It really pisses me off. Keep that loud shit on the track, not on public roads. Its enough that the buses and trucks are fuckin loud.

maybe about 132 nautical miles...

i think that the main reason supercars exist is the sence of acceleration they can provide. if an electric car can do this better, they are better to my oppinion.
what more perfect than an electirc cabrio car that enables you to drive without the slightest noise. What an alien experience would that be, like floatin on a flying carpet. and then continously accelerate to the max speed. i would really like to have this alien experience that only an ev can provide.

Im all for electric in cars that will just take me to work or to the shops.. but for a sportscar, especially a supercar, it needs the roar of a proper engine. How uneventful will performance cars be without it.

Uneventful......... an EV will totally embarriss even 650hp supercars...
Go ask Mercedes who just announced a 500hp 4WD EV supercar if they think it needs to make stupid noise to be the fastest thing on the road!

Car makers spend alot of time to make a car feel good. It has to feel right and alot of that comes from sound. The door has to make a proper click, instruments need a comforting ding. When people describe a supercar, they cant get around the fantastic howl of a Ferrari V8 or an Aston Martin V12. When its all electric 50% of what makes supercars exciting, is gone. You wont watch a race where the cars go whoosh instead of screaming past. Electric cars wont go any faster. just be less exciting.

Only 'kids' put loud exhaust systems on their cars, we all eventually grow up!
Give me silent supercar beating linear torque any day of the week. You know the saying about the loudest person in the room!!!
