Rescuers involved in yesterday's surf tragedy on the New South Wales south coast have told how they battled massive waves to pluck dozens of people to safety.
@jackalas123 well no. they gave us a brief run down of the conditions, no one ever said "oh yeah and the sand banks are going to collapse, so its you're choice to go in or not" our leaders had over 100 young people to care for. two of them were resuscitating the two men who were critical, who werent apart of our church. One of which died. The life guards were helping out, but they were getting people out of the water, not doing the serious stuff.. therefore that is why these guys are 'heroes'
The media coverage on this event is a joke. The real heroes are the 3 professional COUNCIL LIFEGUARDS who did an absolutely amazing job to rescue this group of people and revive multiple patients. These so called group leaders were asked to allow LIFEGUARDS to talk to the group in order to brief them on the rough conditions but chose to ignore this and entered the water anyway. As for Surf Life Saving they were not even present as it was a friday and COUNCIL LIFEGUARDS were on duty.
