@WwoEvarr they sound a lot like nirvana in their FreakShow album...abuse me/rape me? Lie to me/Tourette's??? Petrol and chlorine/Lithium(they dont sound similar but the title)???

And i like both bands, don't hate on silverchair at all, but it would be stupid to deny it.

@caduteacher hey hey...calm down boy....silverchair is one of my favorite bands...but if exist a band that nirvana cant touch is alice in chains...or soundgarden...the rest...nirvana is fucking powerfull.

This band exhibited both the gritty crunch of the grunge movement and the "pop"ish mentality at the same time. That's likely why they are associated with Nirvana, or at least the only reason they should be. Nirvana (Nevermind in particular) was famous for that. Other than that, these two bands are vastly different. Kurt had a great voice, but Daniel has a completely different and more dynamic voice. Two different ends of the awesome spectrum.

Daniel Johns has a gift for melody, it matters not whether he copied some one's style or not, this is simply GOOD music.
