@MrMoose1090 Volvos are also very safe but the biggest Volvo is the S80, which is a midsize-car, the biggest Mercedes-Sedan is the S-Class, which is a fullsize-car. You can't compare them. And the new Mercedes E-Class is safer than the Volvo S80.

@satrianman The same thing would happen if a Opel Corsa crahses into a BMW or Volvo. It doesn't matter which cars are involved in the crash, the old Corsa is unsafe. And the smart is one of the safest microcars, the driver could have survived

@iwonatalija No, no it doesn't. Most of these tests are at around 50-60Km/h, Diana's car was traveling IN EXCESS of 100KM/H, when it hit HEAD ON, a SOLID concrete pole. Any car, you're not gonna have much of a chance after that kind of impact.

Even the W140 was so strongly built, if you were to get into a fatal accident, you would almost definitely die from the G-Forces involved in the crash rather than the car's structure giving way.

It's a testament to how well built these machines really are, but no matter what you drive, hitting a concrete barrier at the speed limit will kill you.
