Just hours after Van Jones resigned amid a "vicious smear campaign" as President Obama's green jobs czar, White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs, who was just scheduled to appear on "This Week," said that "what Van Jones decided was that the agenda of this President was bigger than any one individual.

"He was going to get in the way of the President, and ultimately this country, moving forward on something as important as creating jobs in a clean energy economy."

Gibbs also said that Obama does not endorse Jones' previous controversial comments, and he thanked Jones "for his service in the first eight months in helping to coordinate renewable energy jobs that are going to lay the foundation for our future..."

  • This gibbs guy is a joke. What a pancy. When is he going to dicuss the ACORN scandal. ?

  • But I have seen how differently black people are treated here, it was one of the first things that stood out for me after comming here. mAybe becasue I lived as a second class citizen myself.

And though you or some others may not see it, racial tensions are alive and kicking here.

And every black person knows it, though you dont. They do.

As for my own experience, I won't let anybody pull nationalistic or racial crap around me. It is garbage and belongs in the trash bin.

  • It's certainly a good thing that Van Jones was considerate enough to step aside and get out of the way of President Obama's growing the economy. Now, Obama has had almost two years to be working on it since Van Jones felt the heat and resigned. Goo thing Van Jones got out of the way. Obama would have been up the economic creek without a paddle had Van Jones decided to stick around and get in Obama's way. Ha Ha Ha Ha.

  • I Believe This Was A Video Clip Of ABC News' This Week With George Stephanopoulos' Report On Robert Gibbs Comments On Van Jones' Resignation On Sunday Morning, September 6, 2009.

  • Gibbs had a really difficult job. How do you defend a COMMUNIST with a straight face?

  • Abopros, it wasn't communism that killed people, it was the dictators. And by the way, wasn't true communism.

  • Either Van Jones got fired, or he's a QUITTER.

Wow, scandal in The Democrat Party? I'M SO SURPRISED.

  • @thirdshift47

Stiil better than teaching racism and being a communist, you young people have not been taught about the past where fanatics like jones have gotten power, read about Edi Amin and other black power mass murderers.

  • Actually he doesn't want to change shit.

He's extended too many Bush(he even has the man's Secretary General for Christ sake) policies to name while being called a 'progressive',or,'leftist.'LOL

Look at his Treasury secretary;his economic counsel.

Indeed,he loves our Corporate State just the way it is.
