@rminister1971 if he went to australia over ten years ago he probably wouldve raved on about gollywogs, now called scalliwags.
-
@BloodSonicFlux coon means black person in australia
-
I love eating coon.... cheese.

We have a knack here in Australia to do stuff that is funny without thinking it is re-enforcing an American invented racist stereotype. Funny that, as we are not American and do not have (THANK F$%K) the same ridiculous predudice.
The English are also brilliant at poking light hearted fun. Stephen Fry, Ricky Gervais, etc. If only the US had a more tolerant and self examining comedic streak. Oh how much better the world would be.

Stephen K Amos is hilarious and yes some Australian sound liked that I grew up in Dandenong I think I can say that they are Bogan's

@bearninja7438 Yeah, I googled it earlier.
-
@BloodSonicFlux its was a racial slur for black people in the US like the N word
-
at least the coon cheese guys don't colour it black and smear it on their face and call it "Australia". god damnit, vegemite and kraft! stop embarassing us.
-
hehe you know when you think about it us Aussies can be a touch racist somtimes and the name coon cheese always made me laugh
-
I don't get the coon part. What's wrong with it? Is it some American thing? Coz I don't get it.
the reason it's called Coon Cheese is the inventor was named Edward Coon. It's not intended to be racist, but I can see how it could be portrayed that way and as an Australian who wouldn't of know the answer we would have got defensive.
