A look inside the Banks twin turbo Duramax engine's testing and fitment into the S-10 drag truck. The version seen here is road race configuration, which was used to get 7.96 sec & 167.34 in the 1/4. Wait till the real drag engine goes into service. (For more info visit bankspower.com)

  • @Mr04fordranger I've seen this statment before and I'll tell you that there's not a single shread of truth in it. I guess it's just another one of those internet rumors. The engine in this truck is not rebuilt after every race. In fact, after our record setting run in March 2009, the truck wasn't used again until the NHRDA world finals over a year later. The engine wasn't rebuilt, no pistons replaced, no complete tear down. The result? Another 7.77et pass. You can read about it on our web site.

  • @propaintballa i dont think so...

  • @nitiratsueb .. you might be mistaking fuel injector lines for spark plug wires. Diesel engines complete the combustion process through heat of compression instead of a spark to ignite fuel.

  • @nitiratsueb they don't. they have glow pugs. which are only used when the engine is cold. high compressed mixture of air and fuel at the right ratio along with high temps makes the bang. if you spray an aerosol can over a flame (not in it) it will ignite. a diesel is pretty much the same. when the piston compresses the fuel is added to the air in the hot block. creating heat, compression with air and fuel so then the power stroke happens.

  • Actually, some of them do. International made sevral engines for their farmall tractors in the 40's and 50's that start on gas, and are switched over to diesel

  • great diesel engine. I could make my very own diesel stock car with a powerglide 2 speed auto transmission.

  • @Cheapbikes just all depends on the size of the twin turbos, and the boost there runnin. i personally would rather single turbo or procharge my vehicle but twin turbos can produce amazing power.

  • @nitiratsueb

they have glo plugs not spark plugs

  • that thing looks so fucking mean!!!!

  • @nitiratsueb its cuz they use a compression method instead of a spark method :]

  • Very nice job banks!!
