Dana is failing Biology. To pass she must attend an extra credit assignment with several classmates that will lead them into a remote region of the Great Dismal Swamp, a place teeming with life... and death. While the group keeps one eye out for hungry bear, deadly snakes and lurking gators, they are unaware of the real danger. For the top of the food chain lives in a dingy cabin not too far from their campsite, and he has an appetite for human flesh.

NL:De jonge studente Dana heeft nog dringend enkele studiepunten nodig voor biologie om af te studeren en gaat met enkele studiegenoten evenals de docent Curt op excursie naar het Dismal-moeras. Daar aangekomen stuiten ze op een krokodilkadaver wat door stropers is gedood. De geboren jachtopziener Dale gedraagt zich een beetje vreemd en interesseert zich veel meer voor de jongelui uit de groep, zijn wandelende menukaart. Immers Dale en zijn achtergebleven zoon zijn ijskoude moordenaars en kannibalen. Ver van alle civilisatie verwijderd wachten Dana en haar collega's niets anders dan pure terreur. Een heftig gevecht om te overleven begint.
