Brilliant! My young son runs around the house with his "ridna maty moya" straw hat on singing this song. Brings back happy memories for my wife as her grandma used to sing this song to her when she was young. Thankyou.

@ukrainianmusicvideo Hmm. Just noticed that you've addressed the issue of translation already. I have to agree with you. I'd say that I know you're translation is as close as is linguistically possible to the sentiment of the original.

Is this your own translation? Understandably, nuances from the Ukrainian would be lost. You have, however, done a magnificent job of retaining the character of the lyrics.
I'm also impressed by your delivery of the song. It's truly duplicitous in that it flows in a manner that could be read as being simple (one of its brilliant characteristics), but I know how difficult it is to sing. A truly beautiful rendition.

Thank you. No song translation ever is word for word like the original .The trick is to undertand the essence of the story of the song and then rewrite it with that in mind. You can hardly ever just translate a song from one language to another word for word without having to leave the word for word script. That in mind, I think its safe to say I'm quite close!
