New consruction took place in Riga in the 1860's when the Riga fortress walls and old wooden buildings were leveled. New stone tenement houses were built in different Art Nouveau styles, drawing on influences from Germany, Austria and Finland.

Eclectic and completely engrossing, this Architectural walk cannot be missed and was a highlight of Riga.
