Ricky Roma all but destroys Williamson after the latter screws up Roma's big sale. One of the two great scenes from Glengarry Glen Ross, and one of Pacino's best monologues.

How many bosses do not understand that they are there to help, not hinder? Yes, the Pacino character is a snake, but so many bosses don't know their trade and wish to micro manage. Don't get me started.
I've always wondered that myself. I wonder if somehow there was some editing that was involved that made the line seem so non sequitur? Moreover, if the check was deposited, how is it that Pacino loses the deal? if the money is refundable under a buyers-remorse clause, then why would James Link be so upset, whether or not the check is cashed. This is a pretty confusing scene. Moreover, it would be nice to know why Link wants his money back and what his wife had to do with it.
Maybe the director thought adding details like that might slow down the flow a bit? I might see if I can get the book out or see the play, It might explain a bit more, plus it would be interesting to see a different adaptation of it.
