Paragliding ground work: Dave working, in fairly tricky thermic conditions, at Glenshee car park on 'Taxi' to launch before we headed up the hills for some nice TTB flights, filmed on Murray's head cam.
The trim speed of all gliders is about the same, at around 20kts/24mph/38kmh..... the main speed diffrence (related to wing rating) is only when on the speed bar.
BTY it is because of safety issues (PILOT control...!) that I do NOT fly 'low' rated wings my self... they give a LOT less information about the air and have a LOT less 'control authority' than 'high rated' or 'comp' wings, hence most of my students over the years go for DHV '2' wings as their first (post training) wing...
We were working on tricky launches as at this stage of the day Alan C only found light lift at the top of the main ridge so there was no point in Dave/Me expending a lot of energy in top to bottom flights!
As Dave's launches in 'normal' conditions/on a slope are already Ok (as you can seen in the later clip of his flight down to the road) this was the best (but hardest!) option to start with for that days training.

This was filmed about a week ago.
