  • @d1g1man The Shuguang factory in china has been manufacturing tubes since the 50's. It's not as if they are some recently sprung up plant making vacuum tubes. Their quality control has also increased dramatically in recent years.

  • who made this particular tube? US or Russian /Chinese copy?

  • @poikaa3 - That is called the flashing, the flashing and the getter ate two different things.

  • 2:45 It is called a "flashed getter" deposit of the metal barium. It's purpose is to maintain and clean the vacuum of the tube. It turns white if vacuum fails.

  • Stop scraching it! I dont know why but it annoys me :P No offence. Great vid plus from me

  • This is why I like Ameritron, and why I own one. I love the fact that the techs post these videos! I only wish that the 811 and 572 tubes were available from somewhere besides China and Russia. Thanks guys, I really appreciate any and all information you can share this way.
