@zaphster11 a pass back is passing the ball the to keeper and he picks it up with his hands. It is illegal to pick it up with his hands,and yes,goalies can score,it's rare,but they do score.

@OLsebastien nowadays it's only legal for a goalie to pick up a pass back off a volley, particularly one from a header.

This is before 1992. Before 1992, keepers were allowed to pick up backpasses.
