NB! In 3:16 - I have entered phpMyAdmin and am inside the tab Databases. If you are on another tab the screen will look different. Select the Databases tab to create a new database.

Next in the series is:
Part 2: Creating a Wordpress child theme for the theme Thematic
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zvk-9i...

This is a tutorial for installing MAMP (Mac, Apache, MySQL, PHP)
and Wordpress 3.1.

My Wordpress Playlist:
http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=...

The reason for installing MAMP is that it gives the flexibility in installing on ones own computer a CMS software like Wordpress. MAMP (or another much used XAMP for PC or Mac) software also helps you create a database for your CMS. One can also easily view the php pages through using this software.

Installing a CMS locally one can design the web site and when it is ready upload the CMS and the files that belong to the site.

I am creating tutorials along the way as I create the web site www.easywebdesigntutorials.com

The site is a work in progress.

Right now the site that is up has been created through Dreamweaver, but I am slowly recreating it through Wordpress. The main reason I believe is because of the blog feature. Making it possible for people to add comments below my video and written tutorials. If someone has a easier/better solution to adding blogs/comments to a site created in Dreamweaver, let me know.

This is the first of a series of tutorials on using Wordpress with Thematic theme.
