this is the progress of my vette so far! feel free to ask questions and comment! it started off as a California car we found out from emission controls on the motor, we bought the car from a guy in Indiana who's uncle had it for 20+ years, he said it was only in one accident where the rear was hit, but we came to find out that it was wrecked in the back and had lots of damage and was repaired, it was also hit in the front and had frame damage where the frame was straightened out. the whole front clip i aftermarket and most of the rear over the gas tank is replaced the motor was recently rebuilt so were just sprucing it up a little bit. the motors almost done and the frame is stripped of parts and rust and is being painted in truckbed liner so it wont peel easily. the body just has to be painted and have both floor pans replaced. the trans. is fine and painted and ready to install. its coming along slow but steady!

but yea it needs a lot of work right now, if you have any questions just comment and plz rate it! thx for watching

  • I'm putting my 79 on the road again after storing it for the last 20 years (it passed a lot quicker than it sounds). I just drilled out the rivets, and beat off the rear disks (literally).

How hard was it to take the body off the frame? That would really make the job a lot easier.

  • taking the body off is pretty time consuming honestly its possible to do but its a lot to do

  • also whats this song called? :) lol, its really good

  • it's by Creed i think it's "six feet from the edge"

  • I would like more details on taking the body off my bolts are pretty rusted . , body mounts are cracked and shot, witch is causing the body to crack now

  • Yeah mine was sitting in somebody's backyard for 20 years in the dirt and grass

  • I'm only 14 but iv fixed a car without any former training or help because I love cars

We have this same model in my school auto shop and I'm going to buy it for 1000 because it's a serious fixer upper this is because it was sitting untouched for 20 years

It's black running engine and is or would be a gorgeous car

  • Congratulations !! I also have a '76, and find them to be one of the most under appreciated cars ever made, that being said, there are a surprising amount of (jealous) haters out there with more than their share of negativity towards these cars; I'm 40 and plan to drive mine a while and fix what comes up, but I applaud your efforts and will watch with anticipation your next post !!!

  • @atvstunter101 You're going to get some negative comments entirely out of jealousy. You sound young and it's common sense that teenagers can't afford to restore Corvettes. You're definitely lucky to have it and a dad that will restore it with you, so just don't take it for granted, take good care of the car, and don't drive it like a maniac and all will be right with the world. I'm 28 and just finally bought my first Vette, I'm jealous but you've got a great opportunity. Good luck with it.

  • Good luck with your project. My 76 is coming home from the shop by the end of next week. She's had a engine and transmission rebuild. 400+ HP with a new overdrive transmission.

  • I think I'll just get the car back on the road, and try an off the frame later. Thanks for the reply.

  • smart move.
