[Keegan's P.O.V]
I collected my books from my locker and headed outside, rushing home. As I landed on the last step I heard my name being called. I half expected it to be Skyla, but knew she was hanging with Talon tonight. I turned around and found Elijah, one strap of his backpack on his shoulder. His black hair was slightly messy, but was quickly fixed with a swish to the side. My cheeks flushed bright red as the memory of the exposed secret my ex-best friend had told flooded my mind. I twisted back around and continued walking; not wanting to deal with the problem Sage had created.
"Babe wait up!" Sage yelled to Elijah, once she witnessed that he was trying to communicate with me. I kept walking as the sounds quieted and the only peep heard was the faint beats of my footsteps. Suddenly, an annoyingly close cackling escaped someone and I looked over my shoulder and saw the girl who I no long wished to be seen with and the boy who made my heart still beat fast.
"Oh Eli baby, you are so sexy. That V-neck shows off those gorgeous muscles." My back cringed and my teeth gritted.
"Thanks, I guess." He replied causing a smirk to form on my face. I guess Sage's attempts at sexiness only turned to stupidity.
"Those warm lips want to be kissed?" She questioned him. She had reached my boiling point and I was about to erupt like a volcano. I twirled on my heels and walked right up to her.
"I thought these childish antics were above you, but boy was I wrong." I blurted, looking her dead in the eyes. I was unaware of the location we were at or who may be watching.
"What antics? I'm just telling my boyfriend how hot he looks." Sage said, playing with Elijah's hand. I watched as she looked at me blankly hiding her true evil side.
"Don't play me dumb Sage." I replied, shaking my head.
"You sure this isn't you, being you?" Sage asked, tilting her head slightly and smirking with all the evil that was truly within her.
"Should I recall the summer you had this year? It is a quite interesting story. Elijah would love to hear it." I said, causing her perfect little smirk to fall flat, turning it into a serious, flat look. Her lips were pressed together, trying to hide the feelings she wanted to expose. Instantly, Sage pulled Elijah into a deep kiss, making sure I was in viewing mode. Tears brimmed my eyes as I witnessed what I never wanted to happen. Elijah quickly pulled away from Sage and just stared at her. I turned around and walked away from the scene I was so not in the mood to see. I shook away the tears and picked up my pace to distance myself from them. I was unsure of why I was out of the blue, an emotional wreck. A minute later, my arm was lightly yanked and I twirled around to see Elijah, without Sage. I looked down as he gazed at me and all I wanted was to go home.
"I'm sorry for how Sage was acting. I thought she was more mature then what she showed." Elijah said, licking his lips and adjusting his strap of his backpack.
"It's fine." I simply said, shifting on my feet, just wanting to get out of this whole situation. He recognized my not so comfortable feelings and tried to lightening up the mood and tension between us.
"It isn't, but I must know, what happened last summer?" He asked, looking at me.
"Just things. Let me just say, Halloween is her favorite holiday." I said walking away quickly. I left him there dazed and confused, unsure of what to respond with. As I turned the corner, I encountered Sage who was steaming and frustrated.
"I swear on my life, if you told him where I went last summer, you're dead." Sage said sternly, giving me the death eyes.
"I was tempted, but I didn't. I did however inform him that your favorite holiday was Halloween." I replied, smirking lightly.
"It isn't, Christmas is my favorite holiday." She said, looking at me serious.
"You sure?" I asked.
"Positive it is." Sage answered, looking at me still.
"But with Halloween, you can be someone you aren't. That is the definition of you." I said, bumping her shoulder as I walked away, somewhat accomplished.
