I have watched in hope and expectation as we Citizens of Pale Blue Dot moved toward a Woman President of the American Province. I say "province" because in a global community each sovereign nation is a province of the planet. And ... the planet has no monarch, Prime Minister or President.
Given your nation's relative power in the world as a province, ie. chief friggin' Province, The election of the American President, now involves 5% of the global community have the option to vote for Caesar.

This may be pushing the metaphor, but the message is clear...
One must ah recognize who, where, when and ah why one is, so as to know what one ought do.
Obama speaks Chelseese and Hillerieese in terms of being able to bridge the living historical human record.
A president is a story teller. Telling stories about who we are and where we are going. The telling helps to complete the "who we are" and the transfer of power to a new generation helps to create where we are headed.
