Yesterday was the 54th anniversary of Emmett Till's death, and many people still don't know about him. This is just a video to honor his life and memory as well as that of his mother.

ps: I know there are some typos in the vid. I was up till 4 in the morning doing it and I was so tired I didnt notice the mistakes until it was already done.

  • because i was crying so hard...

    great video though...

  • Thanks : )

  • Wow, that's a great idea. I'm glad I could help educate people about Emmett. They really don't talk about him enough in schools. I'll remember about the black background next time.

  • My teacher told me that "we should be the change in the world", adn Emmett Till reminded me of what she said. The way Mamie never gave up touched me, and other millions. Thanks a lot for the video

  • I learned about Till in social studies nd when the picture of his body came up, I just couldn't stand it! Thoes two men should had a life sentence to PRISON!!!

  • Now that I know I will never forget.

  • This story is unbelievable about how hard it was for the black community back then. Poor Emmett did not have to die like that. And the will power that his mother had to keep fighting for the memory of her only child was unbelievably strong. She truely deserves her place in history for the Civil Rights Actions!!! Very well put together and the music was very well choreographed with the picture. GOD BLESS YOU EMMETT AND MAMIE TILL may you two finally have peace.

  • God bless Emmett and his wonderful mother!!!

  • that was sad ......how people do that

  • i had never heard about emmett until a college essay that i read in english class, written by a kid that went to my school, when he mentioned it for a second in the paper. i had no idea who he was, so i looked it up.

    and i cried

i cried every time i read the story

and once i heard from one sixty minutes paper that there were photos of his body, and read the description about it, without even looking at the body i started crying, again. then i saw the pictures... and i couldn't even see...

  • I agree with soldoutis. Great job though. Also, some of the time the words went by too fast for me to read the entire slide.
