A Scottish Muslim accused of being a "wannabe suicide bomber" has attacked the justice system for criminalising "thought crime" and destroying his familys reputation.

Mohammed Atif Siddique, a student from Alva in Clackmannanshire, spoke out as he walked free from court yesterday after judges overturned his conviction on a terrorism charge.

He aspired to be a suicide bomber, but law requires a direct link
Mohammed Atif Siddique was released after being acquited on one of four charges. But the case has called into question how the Terrorism Act 2000 was drafted

Mohammed Atif Siddique went from being a model pupil at Alva Academy, in the shadow of the Ochil Hills, to a low-achieving loner who was obsessed with jihad and fantasised about becoming a suicide bomber.

The 24-year-old was detained at Glasgow Airport in April 2006 as he waited to board a flight to Pakistan with his uncle and was arrested eight days later after police searched his home.

His trial in September 2007 heard that he spent hours at his computer, accessing al-Qaeda-supporting websites and chatrooms. Among the thousands of files recovered from his laptop and home computer were manuals on constructing explosives and footage of suicide bombers promising holy war against the West. Officers said he could not have joined some password-protected sites unless regarded as committed to the cause.

The court also heard of how he had frightened his fellow students at Glasgow Metropolitan College, where he had been studying computing, by showing them images of beheadings by terrorists and by making threats to blow up the city. One student, Razia Hussain, recalled that Mr Siddique, whom she said had been nicknamed Suicide Bomber, was reluctant to talk about anything that did not involve Islam.

Jurors heard there had been a change in Mr Siddique between his teenage and young adult years. The trial was told that he had worked hard while he was a pupil at Alva Academy. His head teacher described him as a model pupil and he went on to study computing at Forth Valley College in nearby Alloa before undertaking a two-year Higher National Degree (HND) in information and communication technology at Glasgow Metropolitan College. Mr Siddique failed to shine academically and was forced to downgrade from a HND to a Higher National Certificate after failing more than half of his course. It was during this time that his interest in online terrorist material increased. Former students recalled him trawling through Arabic websites portraying freedom fighters and glorifying suicide bombings.

But it was the legal process, whereby he was prosecuted and, yesterday, dramatically acquitted, that brought into focus the whole issue of how far the civil rights of an individual should be balanced against the need to guarantee the security of the state.

  • 16:103] We are fully aware that they say, "A human being is teaching him!" The tongue of the source they hint at is non-Arabic, and this is a perfect Arabic tongue.

[16:104] Surely, those who do not believe in GOD's revelations, GOD does not guide them. They have incurred a painful retribution.

[16:105] The only ones who fabricate false doctrines are those who do not believe in GOD's revelations; they are the real liars.

    THINK CRITICALLY

  • a message to muslim brothers and sisters:

mr.muahmmad claimed in sura 18:83-84 that alexander was the prophet, whom allah gave power and fighting equipment.

historians of the world agree that alexnder was a pagan and called? himself son of zeus. it proves that koran is the word of muhammad, not god's.

in the book "101 myths of the bible", greenberg showed how biblical stories came from egyptian mythology.

christians and muslims copied those stories in their books.

    THINK CRITICALLY

  • message to all muslm brothers and sisters:

aristotle's advice: use reason and logic.

    muhammad's advice in sura 5 : 101-102

do not ask questions. previous nations who asked questions became disblievers

which also means do not use your brain. just follow me blindly.

    who would you follow?

in the book "101 myths of bible", greenberg showed how biblical stories in jewish bible had their origins in egyptian mythology.

christians & muslims copied those stories in their books.

    THINK CRITICALLY

  • Message to muslim brothers and sisters:

Gabriel made a mistake when he asked muhammad,"iqra, Muhammad", which means: read, Muhammad", and muhammad answered,"i can't read".

instead gabriel should have asked,"repeat after me, muhammad", as allah knew Muhammad was illetrate and Gabriel was not carrying any papers to read from.

Why then allah sent Gabriel with wrong instructions

It proves that the story was concocted later

read also, "101 myths of the bible", by greenberg.

    THINK CRITICALLY

  • Building and managing a website containing videos and text information on how to build firearms and explosives and you think he merely had an "interet"

Typical left-wing nut job uncapable of seing reality as it is.

In my opinion, the guy should be locked up.
