Im having a few issues.Help me figure them out.

I've had this van since Jan '08 bought it with 78,000ish on it.She has a gas guzzling 5.9 Liter 360 V8, Holley 2210 carburetor, she currently has 81,409 miles on her.On average getting around 7.8mpg due to some problems I'm having with her.

  • water pump belt is loose at the alternator, thats the screaching sound. 5:58 looks like the pcv valve it goes into the d\s valve cover.those rubber tubing hoses [vacuum lines] need to be either plugged or put back into the right spot.get a haynes manual. it wont stay running becaus the vacuum lines are all fucked up. if your rich get a new brake booster, replace the vacuum choke with a manual choke, if its still acting like a dick, message me on here. check my vid 77dodge b200 Impregnator.

  • Sounds like you may have either a loose belt or pulley when starting it up. It stills looks and sounds nice though. I remember these vans quite well.

  • first off its a dodge

  • Correct those vacuum lines and replace your belts and your problems should be solved.

  • Put an Edelbrock 4bbl 600 CFM carb on that engine and swap out the 2bbl manifold with a 4. You will get a lot better fuel economy. I did a conversion on a 1975 dodge charger 360 and I average about 22 MPG on the highway. Save yourself the trouble.

  • I have the same engine and carb in a 1976 van. Looks to me like something is going on to close the choke plate, causing the engine to die. The plate should remain open when the engine is warmed up. For me, I just had to do a lot of research to learn about the engine and carb. I'd get the manuals, as someone else said. Then study them. I can see obvious problems with the vacuum hose routing. That squealing sounds like a belt to me. Otherwise the engine sounds good to me. Good luck.

  • mine does that too

  • First thing is get a factory service manual (not a Chiltons or Haynes) off of Ebay and get those vacuum lines straightened out. That could be part of your problem. Next problem could be the carburetor itself which probably needs to be rebuilt or you can buy a rebuilt one. A fresh tuneup wouldn't hurt and get rid of that choke cable (not factory) and whatever that thing was on the ignition wires.
