@piperbob2 only that free-monopod would weigh thrice and will be a pain to carry. i have a 190XPROB and have tried using that as a monopod, but believe me, u dont gain anything out of it. monopod is very comfortable and light to carry.

Why go the expense of buying a monopod? Just close your tripod legs, shortening two of them by about an inch, and, hey presto - you've got a free monopod !!
