On Board Skybus Airbus A319 during Take-Off from Portsmouth Pease International in New Hampshire on 6th June 2007 around 9:10am. Flight SX 2 to Columbus.

Sitting behind the wing on the left side. Departure from Pease International was from runway 34.

As the fare was only $10 I did not have high expectations for this flight. But it turned out to be great, Nice modern aircraft, not too cramped even though there were 144 seats in 24 rows. You have to pay for everything extra, pillow, coffee etc but the crew were very friendly. If they continue like this they might just have a winning formula.

Aircraft was N521VA

  • SKybus should have service in Albuquerque. How does this airline board? Does it board the same way that Southwest does (A first B second C last)?

  • When I flew with them I paid a $10 additional fee each way to be in the first boarding group (Group 1) They board the special assistance people first, then those in group 1, those that paid the additional $10, then group 2 and then group 3. What you have to have done wrong to get in to group 3 I dont know. All boarding is via steps, no air bridge. This allows them to use two entrances, so boarding and deplaning are quick. It was great but on a rainy sday? that could be another matter
