An Cailín Rua
Skara Brae

  • @Bazra1 Skara Brae is only the name of the band who sings and plays it, but this song if from Co. Donegal in northwestern Ireland (and the band is from there too). The song is about a man who is in love with a red-haired girl.

  • Here is the Spanish to English translation An Cailín Rua Skara Brae I is not difficult praise my red-haired girl And not just his hair red It was like a ray of sunlight reflected by the glass And had the beauty of the women of Finne. I took her from city to city, From Derry to Athlone, door And there was not a mile of the path I followed That does not offer my red-haired a SIP of beer.
  • I've just noticed someone has added a Spanish translation, confusing.

  • Sorry Rosswatt the song is in Gaelic and about a redhaired girl. The group is called Scara Brae. I'm from N.Z but have been to Scara brae in Orkney, awesome experience. You can translate the song into English if you cut and paste the words and use google translate
