I don't know what i'm doing wrong. I made the elipse second mask subtract then 3D but it won't make that white thing go through it I can't seem to move it on the ground it will just move the movie around. I do have a white solid layer I did not do the elipse on the movie layer so I don't get why the 3D is not working for me?? Please someone help me out!!!

Ive been learning after effects for about a year now and I love how much of a difference it has made just by looking at footage i made a day ago and then improving upon it knowing exactly what to fix, learning new stuff is awesome, but i'm running out of ideas, i don't want to do a full scale movie yet, but just small clips to get everything down, i can do fire, lightning, muzzle flashed/blood/tracking/wall hits and explosions and stuff, butany other suggestions for me, like intermediate level?
