Audubon magazine's Julie Leibach takes part in the Greenpeace-led march across the Brooklyn Bridge on the International Day of Climate Action. The folks at 350.org coordinated this and more than 4,500 events in 173 countries; the number refers to the concentration of carbon in the atmosphere that scientists have determined is the safe limit: 350 ppm. The current level is 387 parts per million, which means weve got some serious work to do. Todays global show of support for the target is aimed to urge world leaders to take immediate steps to address climate change and reduce carbon emissions. Visit audubonmagazine.org.
