Hopefully this story won't get pulled for copyright reasons- When I first saw this story, I thought it was such a tragedy- I searched for it on youtube and I couldn't find much about it - so I thought I would post it for a little while- I just think it's too important not to share this.

I'm going to play devils advocate and say that while what the doctor did was horrible. We learned a lot about nurture and nature. Obviously the male tendencies were innate even though this guy was brought up to believe he was a girl; something we wouldn't have learned had not the experiments been preformed

It actually had difficulties even then. He didn't get along with the "other" girls; he liked roughhousing too much, and didn't like girl games like playing with dolls. Dr. Money kept this information from his reports, it didn't come out till David's biography.

@MuraskinoHana in my previous comment i said that your statement was not "valid" only cuss you say that no one is right or wrong, but that's no plausible, that state of the argument is actually, every one is right and wrong from my experience in science(until proven the other way around (both of use are right, not wrong, since if where both wrong it would mean that non polarized and depolarized states are wrong, but maybe both of use are, but that means that you say your wrong)

This is so deeply screwed up. I just read about David Reimer's life and the everything about it was a horrible tragedy. I could barely read it. How could something like this happen? He couldn't trust anybody at all in his life.

first off, there's WAY to much contradictory definitions of mutation so i cant even get to know which one your talking about with only one sentence

second off, your vagina or dick does not determine if your a girl or a boy, i forgot how to explain it exactly(im no scientist) but basically there's a code in your brain that tells you your a girl or boy, exactly like a MAC knows its a MAC

@MuraskinoHana sorry what? if a kid has a problem, lets say something really fucked up, like he has an harm or leg of extra, you say that we should wait until the kid has the age to decide if he wants to cut it off or not? cuss someone born with the wrong body(gender/sex) is not gonna be healthy(both cases would cos a bit of mental problem to the child, one is simply more visible)

in your brain you see your self has a girl but when you look in the mirror you see a guy

I just don't agree with performing sex changes on children who most likely don't have much knowledge about the process in the first place. Sorry for having an opinion...

Remember people this was done in the 60s a LOT has changed and this would be criminal now. They all thought they were doing the best thing. Also another GREAT reason NOT to circumsize boys...accidents still happen to this day.

its not the fact of not liking your body, i cant explain this by my self, you shoulc really research the subject before making big claims
