Seems to me you are making this into way more than it is so just to bring you back down to earth I will repeat what I stated in an earlier post, this is not a spiritual path.

If anything it is a westernised, bastardised physical variation on an ancient tradition but so far removed that it's in name only and serves only those who profit from it.

Now as far as "spiritual experiences" are concerned, true spiritual traditions suggest they are a distraction and to give no real attention to them.

@cspace1234nz Your making broad generalizations. Certain disciplines are more effective in producing spiritual experiences than others but you are in effect a "spiritual elitist" and in the course of trying to prove that you are more authentically "spiritual" than others, you are only providing evidence of your own shortcomings. No one has a monopoly on spiritual enlightenment. In the end it is all a mystery. I think your views are shallow and simple. No one knows what you think you know.

@ybyainc By that rather strange logic you could well say that a drug dealer may well be on a spiritual path because you don't know what's "occurring internally". Extreme yes but what's the difference really ?

What masquerades as a spiritual path these days is all a bit vague but there are particular spiritual traditions that are true spiritual paths, yoga as we know it these days is definitely not, though it sure is good for business.

@cspace1234nz I think the answer to the question is that what makes a path spiritual is what occurs internally, For an outside observer to make a judgment about what is occurring internally based on what he sees occurring externally is a very difficult and complex issue. This guy may appear to you as a "fake" who is merely manipulating and exploiting others for personal gain, but that does not mean you are seeing the truth, for you have no way to prove you are any more spiritual than he is.

@ybyainc That's quite a good question, it's actually the right question. "Yoga for Flexibility" pretty much sums this up, it's a physical pursuit, no different to reading a book or sitting in a church or whatever, these are all physical things.

These people on these videos have an agenda, they are selling something, they are making money out of it. Even though they try to make out this is some sort of spiritual pursuit, its' absolutely not, nothing more than a rip-off of spiritual concepts.

Keep in mind that this amazing woman is over 60 years old! I am such a huge fan of both her and BK S Iyengar, who is more fit in his 80s than many Americans are at any point in youth. I am so inspired!
