  • "Galliano Masini had the most beautiful voice of all tenors--a magnificent bronze sound. What a pity nature had not gifted him with a brain that corresponded to his voice! " (Magda Olivero - belcantosociety)

  • @Aetion He's not the only tenor accused of being small-brained.

  • @Aetion Oliviero also said that off stage Masini was appauling,so ordinary you could die,but on stageMasini was regal, elegant &gorgeous which you perhaps neglected to mention. The statement is almost contradictory.Oliviero says, that on stage he was perhaps the tenor who most resembled Maurizio, il Conte di Sassonia. That statement in itself shows that Masini was intelligent enough to most resemble the tenor role.M.O.also states that Del Monaco was incapable of singing piano, which is not accurate.

  • magnifico timbro, carattere struggente. Meraviglioso labronico.

  • Grande Livornese purosangue...:-)

  • @FarfalloneAmoroso Certainly not, but I quoted Magda Olivero whose sense of humor is great. :) That’s all.

  • He had a beautiful timbre, but his excessive 'scooping' and shaking distroys the beauty of the voice in parts, especially for instance by 1:49. It is true, veristic approach demands passionate expression, but it should not be done to such an extent that it disturbs the melodic clarity and correctness of the singing. Much better: Giuseppe di Stefano.

    Kind regards

  • CHE UOMO !!! CHE TECNICA ECCELSA !!! CHE VOCE IMMENSA !!! IN UNA SOLA PAROLA : FANTASTICO !!! MODELLO DI ASSOLUTO RIFERIMENTO PER TUTTI I TENORI DRAMMATICI E LIRICO-SPINTO.
