  • One thing that would help is some kind of step(s) for older cats. My senior cat would love the open design of this but wouldn't be able to use it because of the height issue. Steps would solve that problem.

  • @LG1226 I did think of that. I have certainly seen a corrugated cardboard step in PetSmart, but yes it could be an added option too. Thanks for the feedback.

  • The only problem here is for cats who do not squat when the urinate. Many cats stand and require high sides . A good idea may be a model with high sides for these cats. Also cats that dig and throw a lot of litter will create a mess with low sides. Can litter get into the moving bottom and if so will it affect the movement? Beside that, it looks like a great idea, most innovation from the litter robot.

  • @n4ktz I actually plan to provide (as an option) a raised side panel set. The lower sides will be more inviting to a cat (less enclosed), but once the cat has adjusted then you can simply attach the raised side kit. That raised side panel kit actually described in the patent.

On your second point, I have not had any problems with litter getting into the base. There's a small gap between the base and the upper unit, so any litter dust just rolls into the receptacle.

  • Isn't this exactly like how the Litter Robot operates, except it's not an enclosed globe?

  • @feb4video It does sift just like the litter-robot, but it's open so that cats are far more likely to use it. It also stays much cleaner, is easier to clean, contains odor better, is cheaper to manufacture, fits on a store shelf (breaks down into a small box), sensor detects tiny cats, litter area is much larger, works with cats that generate large clumps, better method of preventing clumps from sticking (no dirty rubber liner).

I really tried to address every issue with existing litter boxes.

  • I would really love to have one... Keep us posted

  • Where can I buy one?

  • I wish this was available. I have the litter robot (about 5 years now) & it works, but the rubber lining gets messy, it spills a little litter outside & 1 of my cats does not like it. I keep it out but also have a regular pan box as well. This looks like it would solve all the problems the litter robot has.

  • @LitterLoo the slide should be enclosed

  • @LitterLoo pac man inspired you lol

  • @LitterLoo If you do get this manufactured, then, please do let the rest of us know. In the meantime, since this is still a concept/prototype and neither myself nor my husband is the handy type, I guess I'm getting a Litter Robot.
