@userunavailable3095 Helical cut gears don't rattle like straight cut gears. Same as transmission gears in a vehicle. External gears like on this tractor should not be greased because the grease will trap dirt and make a nice grinding compound

Yes it kind of works like that. The hot air goes in about half up. When the hot raises it pulls the cool air in from the bottom.
