Dickie Judy of Foster in Boone County West Virginia talks to filmmaker Robert Gates about blasting damage to the dream house he built. Dickie is probably the longest-standing blasting victim, with his struggle beginning a decade and a half ago. After going to Congress, the state legislature and federal and state mining officials, he finally, with help from WVU law students, won a moderate settlement from Massey Energy.

  • Mr Judy I am sorry for what they are putting your family through.

so you know the most of the people that have been labeled as environmentalist are just like you.

    Thanks for doing this.

    I will pass it around..

Keep telling on them this is what really gets them..

    Nice place by the way..

  • This is corporate crime!

I know this homeowner has " won a moderate settlement from Massey Energy", but it should not stop there. Where is the State of WV? Massey Energy does not need to use that much explosive energy that it cracks concrete 6 miles from the blast site!!

This company needs to be grabbed by their legal balls to get their attention, then enjoined to by the state to use more appropriate blasting practices....

  • This is the home of my grandfather. He is an amazing man and we are all very lucky to have him in our lives. I LOVE YOU G-DAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • keep posting the videos, get these stories out! people need to know about the communities being devastated in southern WV

  • you know that must really suck, all those yrs you must have spent working so hard, and then it get trashed like that. feel sorry for you.

  • This has gone on for years, they use to supose to blow a horn before blasting as a warning but didn't/don't. The vibration makes the ground heave, shelves fall off the wall, cynder blocks crack, and I almost dropped hot grease on myself and son once, I fell a couple of times out of being startled, and one time it broken a $1000.00 antique bottle and a couple thousand dollar figurines. you'd think WV was earthquake country.
