  • @xpez are you confusing the North American (o)possum Didelphimorphia with the Australian/New Zealand possum Phalangeroidea ?

If you check further you will see that the Possum is not native to NZ., where it is a threat to native wildlife and plants. Yes, that's right, it kills native birds including the national bird of NZ, the Kiwi.

  • @xpez But they help to maintain a clean and healthy environment. They eat all types of insects, including cockroaches, crickets, beetles, etcetera. They catch and eat rats, roof rats, mice, and they consume dead animals of all types (carrion). They like over-ripe fruit, berries, and grapes. And they think snails and slugs are a delicacy! Nature's little Sanitation Engineers!! Typically they go about their quiet task late at night

  • possums are marsupials. They are good for killing small rodents and cockroaches. They only eat rotting fruit.

Possums are good animals they wont fight your cat and they dont spray. They are not like RATS not even related. They arent the cutest things but they are not evil beasts at all. I jsut found out a lot of useful information here when I saw one in my yard and was worried about it. Turns out they are not a pests!
