In Loving Memory of The Lion Man's Barbary Lioness Shia R.I.P

On December 4th 2009 aged 10 years Barbary Lioness Shia passed away believed to be by natural causes.

This was deverstating and heartbreaking news to alot of people.

Shia was sister to Zion and were the first 2 cubs The Lionman Craig Busch brought to NZ to start his Big Cat Sanctuary. They were both hand rasied by Craig and he had such a special bond with the especially Zion, they saw him as there Dad.

Shia was such a well behaved and placid Lioness she was used for public 1 on 1 interactions when Craig ran Zion Wildlife Gardens.

She was kept with her brother Zion the name sake of the park and they had a special relationship, and even though Zion is the head of the park Shia would always put him in his place.

Shia you will be missed so much, you were such a beautiful Girl. Look after Dalu, Abu, Khan and Sampson up there.

@lionmanlover Yes apparently she died because Jadu killed her or something, maybe because without Craig the cats have gotten wilder, and less friendly to each other in their living conditions. It's horrible what they've done, the cats will probably starve to death cause of PB, she needs to light herself on fire. Rip Shia, aswell.

What's going on with Zion park now?? Is it still open? I read that there's no longer interaction with the big cats now, if that's true it goes against everything that the zoo stood for in my opinion.

Shia was a georgoues Barbri lion and I hope she had a happy life. It is really bad to see a lion dead but evreything is a matter of life and death. I am really sorry and she was a verry beautifull lion and I hoope Zion is coping well Sorry Craig! I hope you feel better soon!
