A video demonstrating, that on the QR25DE engine, how advancing the exhaust cam one tooth on the chain will eliminate overlap and benefit Forced Induction applications.

I know in the video I said retard. After I finished the work, I had a few drinks and then made this video. I got it backwards cuz I was drunk.

  • Hey man, you have advanced the exhaust timing there, not retarded it. Retarding the exh gives more overlap, cause the exh valve closes later.

  • @marshr32 Yeah, i realized that a few years ago lol. I wasnt drinking when I did the work but I was drinking after I finished and when I posted this and got it backwards. I just havent gotten around to changing it yet. I cant change what is said in the video but I can change the title and description.

  • Would this help a N/A QR25 Motor or just help if you were turbo? Ive got intake header and exhaust.

  • @Natanizer77 It will benefit turbo for sure because it minimizes the overlap. As for N/A, it may not do much if anything at all, it might even take away some power, I dont know, but it sure makes the exhaust note sound mean.

  • @ REDDRAGONV09: Hey I'm new to these sentras, i recently purchased an 05 sentra ser spec v and got the Nismo R rated cams shafts with it but their not installed yet. In the mean time i have nismo headers, Nismo Intake, Stromung exhaust set up. when putting these cams in do you need to tune the ecu or can you just plug and play. thanks

  • @MrSTANG1362 No tuning needed. However use assembly lube to grease up the cams when you install. Then run the engine at 1000 rpm for 10 minutes, then change your oil. Then youre ready to go.

Thats a nice setup youll have. I love the sound of that stromung exhaust.

  • @RedDragonV09 did you advance with the stock cam sprocket? if so, do you remember what tooth you installed it at?

  • Forgive my ignorance, but these are after market cams correct? and did the car actually run "Fucking Fantastic"?

  • i thught these had verible valve timing the altima 2.5 does

  • @ REDDRAGONV09: yo wassup, my buddy and i finally put in the nismo camshaft at his shop. I notice that the idle was a little rough only if you you listen to it closely. there wasnt a very big changed in performance. I felt that the stock cams had more low end torque and the nismo had high end torque. I still redlined at 6500 rpm. I also notice that after 4k it was a little more peppier. Is it normal or is it just me. are these nismo cams suppose to be perform like this? thanks again.

  • @ REDDRAGONV09: AWWW crap i already changed my oil to royal purp, but thanks though...I did some research on these QRs and there only two companies that I know makes them. they are JETCHIPs and V greddy i think... Whats your opinion on these chips. I have used jet chips before along with the SCT chip with launch control for my mustang and they work great. BTW did you feel a huge amount of differences when you dropped in your cams. Thanks for the comment ( STROMUNG)
