@TheDevenrocks We were in Afghanistan for 100 years pulled out early 1900 The graves of 15,000 + British Soldiers are still there to prove it-We're gluttons for punishment -we'll never learn

...our young men are where the giant poppies grow so that the national securtiy of the counrty is safe. The Taliban harboured Bin-laden..we invaded ...beat the taliban then became more focused on Iraq..meanwhile the taliban re-coopereated and Bin-larden escaped...so now our young men are there to train the ANP.......

@karenswrighton what do u mean unnwinable, ahganistan is winnable but are troops arent getting directed good enough, but as an example we were kickin butt and takin names until the uk pulled out. they woulda stayed mabey a couple more months and we woulda had it won 2 years ago because they are honestly better fighters.but really we already have the war won really all were doing now is peacekeeping, but i agree with u on last, if u old engough to fight,ur old enogh to have a beer.

@trippletrain77 60,000 US soldiers died in Vietnam.... for what? Maybe your opinion would be worth more if you knew and used a few facts...... I am not against all wars - just unwinnable ones, as it can only be a waste of young lives. Many senior soldiers recognise that a war in Afghanistan is un winnable for similar reasons that Vietnam was such a difficult war to win. Is it right that young soldiers can die for their country before they are legally old enough to have an alcoholic drink?

stupid war haters, im not gona start an argument, but when u protest a war u are dishonoring all the soilders who fought, you abiuse your rights whoever wrote this song u disrespect all soilders from all war in all countries. but for u guys who are war haters, lets just send all our boys home, disband the military and wait for the enemy to invade. wont be protestin war then...will ya? so shut up and go use ur freedom for somethin good. not this war hatin BULLCRAP!!!!!!!!!

do even know why were in Afghanistan? And those soldiers who died ( i call them heroes idk what you call them) they weren't forced to join they did with honor. And they knew the chance of dying and they still enlisted. If that isn't brave and heroic then idk what is.

What you say is true for both sides in most wars. Most armies are made up of voluntary forces. Yes, government's make choices. Some make bad choices or wrong choices. The military follows orders. Both sides. Even the sides that order the soldier to slaughter unarmed. The Japanese pilot in World War One. He wasn't forced to serve.
beautiful song.... u should turn pro!!!
Great voice,, and great video to accompany it.

Thank you!, but I have only just started to learn the guitar and write songs.... still very much a novice and I know that I have a lot to learn. This song did gain a "Commended Entry" in the UK songwriting competition though, so I must be on the right track. I am glad you enjoyed it. It is the last one I have written, so probably my best yet. Thanks again for your kind words. Karen
