The safest place for a cat is indoors where they won't be exposed to cats with diseases, won't be at risk of being hit by a car, etc. There are so many dangers.

What does 'he's neutered' have anything to do with not coming back home? My cat is neutered and spends most of his days outside. He knows the streets better than i do but he always comes back home. I think its really sad if people dont let their cats out but let them grow fat and lazy inside. Animals need fresh air.

i trust my cat. i have a rocky cliff across my back alley that looks over the lake and my cat goes down there all the time. it's really nerve wracking at first when he runs out but he always comes when i call him and i always check now and then on him while he's going through the bush. you can pretty much water right done the cliff to the water's edge and that his backyard. he has a collar a license so i know if i cant find him someone else might.

Check for fleas...could be a problem....(my dad was a vet & I have 3 cats...way more than that in the past...)

cats usually don't run away if they like your home. cats are territorial animals. just be careful if there's a busy street around. otherwise you're quite safe to let your cat out. it's good for them

Yeah we let him out in the back yard because it's fenced in so we watch him. Plus he gets scared easily so he doesn't wonder very far. Other wise I wouldn't let him out if he could just run away ya know?

My cat does exactly the same thing, except when we don't take him out he rams himself into the door until it opens.
