I worked in a place full time for 2.5 years. I got 2 raises in that time, all within the first year. So when they cut my hours back to 33 a week from 40 a week, I got upset and went in to ask for more hours or a raise. Their exact words, "We can't give you more hours because everyones got cut and you don't do anything to constitute a raise." I hadn't gotten a raise in a year and a half. So I talked to friends on facebook about it and about finding a new job.

No i dont think anyone should get fired for anything they say on facebook or anything like that! this is america, WE HAVE FREEDOM OF SPEECH HERE!! and facebook is outside the work place, maybe the companies should take into consideration why people are saying what they are saying, cuz obviously people are getting annoy with their job because things arent being done right or people are being treated right!

Well, I do strongly believe in Americans freedom of speech, although when you start working for a place, you should not be commenting badly about them publicly. The point of a job, is so that you make a company money, then they pay you money! If some people see bad comments about the company, they might not want to go there, making the company have less money! So I think that him getting fired was a little extreme but he did deserve some kind of punishment from the company he works for.

Trust me I agree. It was actually my friend. but valid points. tell your friends and have them discuss it. have social networks become to big a part of our lives. lol
