2) PLEASE use safety footwear in pressroom. Can you imagine the results of dropping a tin of ink onto your foot while wearing sandals...let alone a forme slipping from your fingers?
As a letterpress printer of 30+ years there's two comments I'd like to make although I'm very pleased to see the craft continue;
1) Dont add ink onto the top distributor roller to increase the ink density of the print - this is a temporary measure (even for a short run) and unless you open up the duct/increase the duct sweep then the results of print run means the image becomes lighter through the run.
Hey, I writing from Singapore. I'm glad there are people like you so passionate about letterpress. I'm trying hard to keep this letterpress alive and going...
just picked up my first letterpress windmill. i run a digital shop in nashville, tn and we are getting more and more calls for this process. nice video....keep up the good work. MS

Dear Brownparcelprincess!
I´m Austrian and did my profession nearly 40 years on all letterpress-machines. I`ve got a footdriven Boston-Platen near my bed. I`m still able to set
and print a visiting-card in half an hour.
When I was younger, the girlies were a little bit confused with the
printing monster on my bedside.
Just now the machine is still working after 140 years, but the girls
I wanted to print these cards for, are devorced or dead.
Write me a line, please,
Hans
