Great job guys, beautiful and professionally made movie!

Really well made film. Kind of a shame that the first full length adaptation of this story is a comedy, although it does look good. Hopefully you guys will be consulted when a dramatic interpretation of the film comes out.

Very well conceived and executed, especially considering the budget of film school productions. Well acted, also. The real-life inspiration for this short is still a real mystery, even as details continue to surface in the case.

They're making a Jessie Einsberg(<-- Spelling?) movie just like this 0.0

This was a well done short especially for a school project, looks like a lot of work went into production. I'm actually doing some research on creating a short based on the newer information from the case and conviction. I'm sure it's been covered many times though based on the fact that I'm from Seattle and went to SFI and the first movie I found was created locally. haha.

re:johnston - its because his acting was so good that i was confused! i thought he really was a detective or d.a., and thats why i couldnt figure out if this was a seperate incident in montana or if it was (loosely) based on the wells case...
i dont understand, this video says it happened in montana and the guy's name is "welch", but the WELLS case happened in erie pennsylvania. so is the really a true story, or is it inspired by a true story? if "inspired by", then it is only one alleged or theorized version of the events, and imo not a very accurate one. my main gripe is that it paints the robber as a victim 100 percent, when in reality there is alot of doubt about that... but good production & superb acting by eero johnston

It was loosely based on the story. I made it back in my film school days. A lot has come to light since the piece was made. Time has shown my theorized version of the events to be rather inaccurate, but that shit happens. As with everything in film school, the intention of making this film was to learn, as well as create something cool. And that's true with the writing side of it. There was so much uncertainty with case at the time, that I decide to latch onto that.

At the end of the day, I think we did pretty alright for ourselves, especially considering it was film school project (and at small community college program, to boot).
