@Kguy985 I noticed that, too (the brewery inside the ship). One problem, though: those big tanks don't have beer in em; they're full of fuel and coolant and antimatter. Wouldn't wanna drink that!

@bhorwith22 They decided to not redo the bridge screens because they did not want to distract the viewers from the action of the actors. Even the new movie didn't have that much animation going on in the background. One can only hope the next one at least fixes the engine room... blech, give me Scotty's 60's domain any day.

This is what JJ Abrams should have went with and not that fucked up looking one he had with those over sized warp pylons. Its looks cooler and more to that era. His film was fun although it made no real sense to me. I liked parts of it but hated that Apple store bridge he had and the Budweiser brewery engine room

They should've included this as an option in the TOS Blu-rays (I know, heresy) with the original and remastered effects. If they had a budget and effects team for this, it would look great, faithful to the original, and more like a ship that was 100 years after the NX-01. I also think they should have CGI'd some skies on those dark orange mattes, and changed the random portraits above the monitors to screens like in The Cage. I think the ship in XI is fine though. New timeline, different ship.

Now that's how the Enterprise should have looked in the recent movie. Instead of Hotrodprise with Cadet Jim 'I hate you all because I'm a whiny tough guy with a nice chin' Kirk in command.
