People that have never had a major illness often blame cancer victims for their illness. Like they'll accusingly ask, "What did YOU do to get cancer?" Just good old fashioned victim blaming. Like THEY didn't get cancer, because they did something right.

The heart has a 40 foot field of measurable biomagnetism that is by far the largest magnetic field produced by the body. Do you think that this might be ...the aura?

It's so true that irresponsible, false claims are made about energy medicine. I think putting our attention into the body creates more energy flow. That causes things to work better. As you say, it can help you feel better. I think it can also help one feel more grounded, and I do believe that we are surrounded by an electrical field, and being more aware of this can be helpful in many ways, because most of us are caught in thoughts and the outer world. But its true--false claims abound!

your 7th chakra is totally closed, brotha. open your crown and see how your life will change.

I'm not saying that energy medicine is all there is to health and healing, but your attitude of saying that it's useless is not based on facts and information any more than someone else's claim that is useful. Energy medicine can be used to make actual physiological changes in the body. I know because I've done it both with myself and with others. That doesn't mean that other things like nutrition, genetics, etc aren't important. But EM can't be dismissed out of hand so easily.

I agree with you that many within the energy medicine field make over the top claims, that energy medicine certainly can't cure everything, and that we shouldn't ignore conventional treatments, but I think your throwing the baby out with the water.
As far as scientific evidence goes, read the following books:
-'Energy Medicine: The Scientific Basis' by James Oschman
-'Spiritual Healing: Professional Supplement' by Daniel Benor
-'The Energy Healing Experiments' by Gary Schwartz
Another disgruntled atheist who lost the faith because his needs weren't met. Sad, but you can't deny aeons of unexplainable spontaneous remissions that occured because people believed in a mind/body connection. Priests, shamans and acupuncture practioners do healing energy work because it works. Nurses in hospitals who practice Theraputic Touch energy work and doctors who advise their cancer patients to "visualize" the good cells eating the bad cells, know this stuff can make a difference.

Actually I am not an atheist. I have just let go of false prophets and the myths they promulgate upon the unsuspecting and I will expose them for what they are, manipulators. The scientific studies which are based on statistical evidence does not support the fact that energy medicine or even prayer can heal an individual of cancer. Those stories from old cannot be validated and are questionable. Your words are like those of many cult appologists.
