Reggae Music is Reggae. Calypso stayed calypso Mento stayed mento maybe they might on occasions add in a little bit of the beats but they are NOT the same.

Reggae music is not from calypso music. Reggae music came around by the rastafarians who did african drum beats. The sound systems called in Count Ossie to do some Rastafarian beats. That is how reggae started. Calypso is a different genre of music. Believe it or not as that show use to say.
